Photographer’s Note

'Lake' in Mongolian is 'Nuur'. So this is Ogii Nuur. I almost decided not to post this, on account of the slightly tilted horizon. Too much perspective correction, & the shore of the lake is cut. Then I saw that there are only 2 other uploads of this lake, on TE, (one of them is mine), so I changed my mind.

In the dark, shadowed fg, are some greenish bird's eggs. The sight of so much water, after 5 days in the barren moonscape of the Gobi Desert, has to be experienced, to be appreciated. In the bg, on the horizon, are some white circular tents of that the nomadic people of this region call 'gers', where I stayed overnight. The 'yurts' (which most people who haven't been to Mongolia call them), actually look a lot like North American wigwams, & are found further north, near the Siberian border.

It's always a good idea to post something under-represented. Here you had an excellent POV which allows our eye to follow the curving shoreline. Those eggs are unusual; they look pearlised!
I corrected your horizon without clipping the shoreline. See WS.

Hi Chris,

The curve of the beach is an asset to the composition. The rock in the foreground is giving depth to the photo. There is a good contrast between the colors of the field and of the beach. Have a nice day.

Your note is captivating, cheer. I like this photograph of a so remote and inaccessible place for me. The point of view and framing are very quite selected. This light reveals the details and the colors. Very beautiful image, presented with a suitable format.
