Photographer's Note

This was a split second shot of Pa’O woman amongst the crowd at a tribal market in Nam Pan village, Inle Lake. As morning mists dissipated with the rising sun, the market springs to life bustling with colorful vendors out to make their daily living.

The Pah-O are the second most numerous ethnic group after the Inthas and the most distinctive looking with their thanaka smeared faces in their usual traditional brightly coloured garb and Shan sling bag. They are mostly engaged in agriculture, cultivating their staple cash crops which includes the 'thanapet trees', the leaves of which are used for wrapping tobacco and cheroots.

She looks tired with sad eyes but can't imagine what's really bothering her perhaps you can make up your own story...

Just a simple snap.
