Burma (er, Myanmar) is another one of those magical places. It can be a tough place to travel in due to the bad roads and old buses. But it's unlike any other place on earth. I got up before sunrise in Yangon and went to the old Shwedagon pagoda for morning shots. The place is amazing with countless buddha figures and devotees from all over Myanmar. It's not to be missed. This young monk approached me and talked me into visiting his English class later in the day. I said "OK, but can I take a few pictures of you?". He accompanied me most of the morning; it was a real pleasure to talk to him. I wish the colors in this picutre were a little truer to the light. I think my film may have been too old (what a shame.)

Wonderful image, Caleb I like the writing and that look in his eyes. I made a WS. Well done.

Bela foto, você retrata com excelência muitos detalhes belos. além do foco principal que é o monge. Equilíbrio de cores, e ótima exposição à luz.

Very nice! I very much like the look on his face, he looks wise, an appropriate expression for a monk :). The scriptures behind him are really beautiful as well.

Unfortunately there seems to be some motion blur on his face, not a big problem, lovely picture.

Powerful composition, all elements very in focus. I'd suggest a crop or at the top or at the bottom of the picture. Interesting subject. Great work Caleb!

I appreciate particularly this picture because it reminds me of nice talks with monks and students near the Schwedagon.
A simple but effective composition. A pity that I don't understand the writings.

The writing is very interesting and beautiful. And as a background for the monk it looks like his thoughts...
Even though the colors are beautiful I made a B&W WS...

but I relly like colors of this scene, so warm! great ligh. the pose and expression of the monk are really special, great white writings on the green board, very nice shot. I know I must visit Myanmar.
