I lived the morning fogs
along peaceful countryside
I waited for sunsets
on the temples top
at the sound of hundreds of bells
I sailed the rivers
and walked thru tiny villages.

All over I was welcomed
by genuine smiles
from simple people,
mens and women
and it’s so sad to think
that many of them
have never tested what the word
“freedom” really means.

I add my prayers for the people of Myanmar
with whom I had my best experiences
along my travels.
I hope that this brave attempt against tyranny
will gain a better future for this fascinating country
that I deeply love.

Hello Luca,

Your portrait and the poem portrays the Birman people position very well to all of us. Hope for the best but, it should not be watched and help is needed for their freedom.

An absolutely beautiful tribute. They are in my prayers as well.

Ce regard qui semble nous implorer a un impact fort et nous rappelle qu'il ne faut pas laisser tomber ce peuple qui a tant besoin de nous.
Amùicalement
JJ

Hi Luca,

I think everyone's prayer is welcomed by the people of Burma. No internet anymore, little to no access from and to the outside world, independent media far away, only some brave souls smuggle footage out of the country over the mountains. My highest respect to those!!!!

Greetings,
Dennis

What could I say, Luca? This is very very beautiful, and a tremendous tribute to those suffering under the horrible dictatorship in Burma. May our prayers be answered for a people so gentle and so ill-treated.
ciao mi amice.
