| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
The police and Burmese army has stopped the Sunday marches. Burmese monasteries throughout the country have been surrounded and even closed hermetically. Monasteries count only half of the monk population from before the demonstrations; the other half has either been arrested or have fled - so it has been reported.
VN ambassador, Ibrahim Gambari, has succeeded talking to the Nobel Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi who has been under house arrest since years. No information has been given about the contents of their talks.
In the meantime the press has gone quiet. It could be a good sign or it could be not.
It simply is important that we keep the Burmese subject alive.
My thoughts are still with the Burmese people with this prayer before sunset.

We are all praying for the Burmese, and it's good to be reminded of them with pictures like this. I think the press has gone quiet because the junta has gagged them or kicked them out; we know they've cut off the internet.
In the meantime, I did a small WS on this picture because I was bothered by the whited out (or washed out) reflection in the upper right, and I wanted to try improving the overall shot. See what you think.
