In the village of Kalaw I heard chanting coming from a slope above the main road. I climbed the stairs and found a monestary and a school room of children chanting. They told me that they were learning Sanskrit alphabet.

This is the second shot from the monestary I've posted. the face in this one was OOF, and I had a go at selectively sharpening. Compare the eyes and the hands, which I didn't bother with.

very well poised and thoughtful posture along with some remarkable textures and colours. I like the off balance tilt and the overall composition of the shot. Good work indeed.

There are some details in this picture that add to its value: the wooden desk, that show that has been in use for many years, and the few sheets of paper (not a book) on the desk.
The monk's expression s somewhat enigmatic.
