Hi Josep, I like the composition very much, but am a little unsure about the choice of B&W. It appears a little flat and the large expanse of grey created by the hills is a little overwhelming.

Best regards, Roberto

Hi Josep
This is an excellent shot. Your composition is superb. I especially like the way you put the reeds in the middle of the picture and as the foreground. The DOF is very good with excellent sharpness. The foreground and background are perfectly blurred which make stronger the fisherman and his boat as the main focus. I also like your choice of B&W. It does create a sense of calmness and serenity, as you mention it in your note.
Well done.
Toby

Hello Josep,
Beautiful and interesting composition. For me BW works well in this scene, the man and his boat are clearly defined as the main focus.
well done

Hi Joseph,

I like this compo! I think the black and white works well, though I do understand the hesitation of Roberto. It could perhaps have been a slight bit darker, more contrasted in the dark spots. I often use quad-toned pictures instead of the standard black and white, since they are a bit stronger. But I like the compo and think the black and white works well here!
By the way, did you do a slight burn and dodge around the arm and the head of the man?

Greetings,
Dennis

PS: I added a quadtone version in the workshop. Let me know what you think of it!

Ah I like this shot. Very good use of B&W. You composed the shot so that the whole focus lies on the man and the boat. Very well done.
