Rather battered with time, complete with faded prayer flags, this temple stands in a small village close to Kathmandu.

While I was there the lower level of the temple was surrounded by bamboo scaffolding and local craftsmen were bringing the temple back into a state of glory. By now they should have finished with this top, as well.

I punched up the temple's contrast a bit to bring out the gold, blurred and desaturated the background roof a bit. The background trees are right out of the camera.

beautiful misty atmosphere! very nice details of the roof! I would have cropped of a bit of the lower part though..

Stunning picture. I really like the muted colors against the mist. I agree that the roof in the background distracts a bit. Have you considered cropping more of it out? However, still a great picture!

I like the misty feelng in the background.... I too say crop the bottom a fraction more....
