Photographer's Note

This is a dream. The kind pace I'd like to end up. The picture was taken in Laudo Gompa - Tibetian Buddist monastery in Nepal Himalaya.

Laudo is a popular retreat among the Western fans of Buddism, but at that time I didn't know this place. I saw the monastery on the ridge from the trail connecting Namche Bazar (the capital of Sherpa land) with Thame (a village near the border with Tibet). I climbed the hill to the monastery for more than one hour, although there should be a road to it somewhere.

In the monastery I met a boy and his grandmother - a nun related to Lama Zopa Rinpoche. He founded Laudo in early 1970's as a retreat of Kopan monastery in Kathmandu valley.

Laudo is facing beautiful Kongde mountain range and is a spectacular place to spend few days or years... Here is a map that should help you to find it.
