A picture I took of a monk praying in a temple in Nepal.

He stood there unaware of me. I took a lot of headshots of him but this was my favorite.

I am trying to be different from my suual shots. Trying....

His hands are interesting, but what really catches my eye here is his dress. It seems to me like a kind of Buddhist "high couture" (including with also a zipper?). The yellow patches are also nice on the mostly red composition.

Thanks for another beautiful picture, Florin

Hi Manny
Cool shot. Cropping the head and make the fingers running through the bead the main attraction. Cool job.
The beads, yeah, looked very lively. And the robes, creates the contrast to the overall picture.
Well done, Manny.

Always been a fan of your work. Splendid use of red hues with a light touch of yellow. As always, a great compo. kaya nga idol kita e. Thanks for continuously inspiring.

Cheers!

Hi Manuel,
Very nice shot, I like it. Nice idea to cropping the head, attention is concentrated on the hands and red color is beautiful.
Well done

...and succeeding. Not only different but very successful result, easily up to your standard.

Great shot Manny!

Lush/ rich colors of the robe, and the detail in the hands and prayer beads is good.

Nice job (as always) Manny!

Hi Manny
This shot has a lot of impact and I think it works well to make the beads and his hands the subject of the picture. Beautifully rich colours. Well captured.

Hi Manny, indeed different from your usual portraits, but very effective! The dress is beautiful, especially because of the large number of wrinkles and shadows. The wrinkles are continued in his hand, in particular his right hand. Also a nice effect is the vignetting in the corners, it gives the central part more focus and a bright appearance.

Manny thats classic mate.....what a great presentation huge photo.....well done

Nice and sharp with good colours and a great focus.

:-) Tina

It is indeed different! Really really nice! Good and original POV! Good and smart choice, with so much red to enhance the rob with great contrast of the black marbeles!
Good one!

A very nice photograph of the monk, sharp, clear and colorful. The sharpness and brightness of the zipper is bothersome and detracts from the beads. It would be nicer if you can tone it down. The slight gradient you applied on corners and the bottome edge is very nice and effective.

What an interesting shot with the color of the robe...Kiet

hold it boy! i have seen some similar shots in my own portfolio;-)) haha! a bit too crisp IMO, I think you have oversharpened it a bit... I envy you so much for this trip!!!

Eric

hello Manny, beauty is this photo, I have seen similar in net but a monk was not in front a photograper but photographer was behind this guy and this monk had his hands on his back. Cropping was the same, since this time I like photos like this one, it is magic becoz we do not see his face and for us this is secret - monk in his prayer so far from us and very close to his God,

great work

very beautiful portrait Manuel
excellent cropping, beautiful colors, so gorgeous lighting
the hands, details, well captured
beautiful

Hi Manuel,
Beautiful picture here. I especially like the red color, and the beads, the old hands, the fact that you put the emphasis on them. Oversharpen maybe a bit, yes. But the picture is there, beautiful! Thank you!

Ni Manuel
Browsing through some of your amazing shots, i found this one truly great, im not sure what exactly catches me, but probably the intense red colour and the crop without the face.
