[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Not a posed shot...just spotted this fruit vendor and quickly took this shot. In this area of the Baktapur, we were followed by peddlers of all kinds. It was difficult to really try to compose your shot because they ran after you once you've taken their shots. But I guess it was part of the fun.

With my 7-200 lens, I was able to compose this fast though I would have preferred the whole body. The DOF managed to get a blurred background and the VR feature of the lens allowed me to get a sharp shot.

You're always so on mark with portraits Manny, that I never know what to say except the obvious "perfect". I'm glad you've backed out a bit on this one, as I like the sea green wall contrasting with the red apples (I know you didn't choose those with an impromptu shot, but you did see them well). Well, sort of true about the whole body, but I've always liked some sort of 1/4 circle as a corner of the frame. You've got the light down well, as usual.

Hi Manuel,
So many time that I don't visit your Portfolio but now is really time to make a critique because you ar a must. This is a excelent one with a very good approach angle view of the man carrying the fruits with the bycicle. Excelent colors, contrast, light and sharpness. Very beautiful shot and composition so well seen and done in a clear quality photo as your usual quality insight.

Congratulations and all the best to you.
Fernando

technically perfect, but has no soul, i dont like the pose, framing, just a piece reality grabbed on camera, curse of digital age

This combination of colors is striking for me! it caught my attention at once. Those red apples combine so well with the green wall behind...As a matter of fact, the crop of the legs makes a nice compo IMO, instead of being a flaw. It forces the viewer to come right into the scene and focus on the standing man and the apples... I am impressed by the good quality of the light on his body and the wall behind too;

A great photo, and a nice alternative to your late more posed shots;-)

Eric

Really beautiful, almost metallic, tones, Manny. Somehow these tones reinforce the idea, shown clearly in the man's face, that life has been wearing for this man. So I have to disagree with Swiatek (nygus)--it's not just any piece of reality, it's one that tells a story and has been turned into a work of art. Regards, Ken.

But you have done it perfect, frame, lightness and sharpness are very good.

Hola Manuel.
Good shot and postprocessing.
The pose (I know, he isn't posing) is good and also the expression of his face.
Composition, light and colour are very good too.

Carlos.

Hello Manuel. That is perfect wsorkig people portrait. His lookigg and colours is so nice. Thank you for sharing. Well done. Murat

Hi Manny,
One possible version of hell could be for me to be asked to pick just one, single, unique, picture out of your gallery as my very-best of the best of all your pictures. This would carry me on and on for ever, as I would never be able to select any! But today, maybe, there's an escape from hell with this one. This is a master-piece of photography art. Of simply ART, actually.
The perfect balance of weights between the 1/3rd cropped bicyle, the lower fruit basket, the upper one at the back, the standing man out of the blurred emerald green background, is stunning. Then the colors sympathetically vibrate, creating something like a simphony for the eyes. Then, the dignity of this man, his grandeur despite his poor condition, literally flows out of the picture. Maestro-Manny this is a GRAND picture here. And I am quite ashamed to express my admiration it with two pieces of mean green smileys.

this is really outstanding. I love it. I have little to say that hasn't been said already except for the "halo" effect around the man's head. is that from post processing or a natural element?

Hola Manuel
Tengo que decirte que tu foto me ha sorprendido gratamente. Me encanta esa dominante que tiene la imagen, y el resultado de esos colores tan "gastados", maravilloso en serio, da un efecto increible. Buena toma.
Saludos,
Sonia

Great composition, nice contrast. His look says that he is worried about saling these fruits. He needs money.

Very good candid shot! I see you've been doing some changes to your photography style lately, nevertheless, the results are still excellent! Sharpness, lighting and colors are very strong in all your photos. Another masterpiece!
