Back to my journalistic side and the "dark" side of life.

In the streets of Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, and especially close to the most touristic district, Thamel, you will see tens of thousans of homeless children from 8 to 15 years old. These children were thrown out of their houses because their parents couldn't afford to feed them.

Non Govenrnment Organizations (NGO) suggest that you should not give them money for charity, because they will immediately go and by cheap and dangerous drugs.
If you want to help you should contact with some NGOs that are gathering money in order to offer shelter to these children.

you captured really well the strong condition of that poor boys.
thanks, ciao

Hola Hercules.

Iassou Hercules,
Life has bright and dark sides... and it is good to know and to show both of them.... Here a dark side is well captured5but even in dark side, some brightness can be found;)
However, nice capture with good light

Yes, indeed a "darker" side of life coming to us through your journalistic eyes. Nothing to say about the night shots by you. It is hard to believe that these homeless children are addicted to the dangerous drugs! But again, that is a hard fact!
Thanks for sharing this informative photo!
Best regards
Sayan

Hi Hercules, a nice photo but with a sad story to it. I think it is good that we are reminded of these situations. TFS.
Dean.

Hola Hercules,
Josep

Excellent shot Hercules - so glad you didn't resort to using a flash. The higher ISO has done the job.

The proximity of the children to the roadside is the most compelling part of this image - so far from affluence, yet so close to it (well, it's exhaust fumes anyway).

Excellent reportage

Hi Hercules!
This is the kind of shots I like to see at TE.It`s sad but verry informative with your good note.
It`s a great documentary shot, taken from an excellent POV and you managed the dificult lightconditions verry well.
Regards,Leo

Hi Hercules. I am used to seeing children around the campfire in much happier circumstances. Yes it is all too sad and we try too ignore the reality too often, so we need to be reminded every now and then. Thanks for the reminder. Oh and great photo also.
Cheers Paul.

Hi Hercules,
I mostly buy bread or something to drink for these kids ... but indeed never give money.

Great but sad shot
An

Hola Hercules,

Hi Hercules
well seen how the fire lighten up all the faces of these homeless children at the street with the traffic in the background, a sad scene up to reality, excellent journalistic shot indeed by subject and note, like this kind of shots a lot.

Hola amigo !

Magnificent shot, Hercules. How beautiful an image of the harshness of life can be! The children are almost on the street itself where those cars pass so carlessly by. Very well taken.
regards,
Andrew

Great work, Hercules! Beautiful night city image...full of reality. Contrast between boys warming near fire and car lights mess is just impressive. Sad and beautiful one.

Hi Hercules,
Excellent capture this. The contrast between those zooming cars and these kids on the street is so obvious. Will this gap ever be bridged? I guess not. Nice night shot with good original colours.
