[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This picture is a small break for the upcoming ones from my recent travel to the Canyons at the Colorado Plate.

Probably everyone already figured out that this is a scanned picture back to a time where digitial cameras were a dream for the common amateur photographer. So, obviously you will see right away some damages and digital quality limitations that I wasn't able to remove with my limited Photoshop Elements 4.0 knowledge. The purpose of posting it is to learn from multiple WS. So please do not hesitate in doing whatever you might think is worth it.

Ok, now to the picture itself. This picture was taken close by Namche Bazaar. This is the main trading town of the Khumbu Region. This place is world famous for the Mount Everest (Sagarmatha for the Sherpas and Chomolunga for the Tibetians, 8,848m/ 29,028ft), many other outstanding mountains such as Nuptse (on the left of this picture, 7,861m/ 25,790ft) and Ama Dablam (on the right, 6,856m/ 22,349ft), the Tengboch Monastery (right in the middle of the edge's crest) and last but not least for the brave Sherpa people.

Trekking to this area is becoming more than popular, but you will have to adjust pretty fast to the lack of commodity and hygiene. The purpose of such a trip is to get exposed to the wild and rough himalayian nature and not to have a beautiful Spa with view to the Mount Everest. Well, that is true for most of it. A single exception is portrait here. I was already trekking for 10 days, coming back from Kala Pattar (5,545m/ 18,192ft) on my way to Lukla (2,860m/ 9,380ft) to finally fly back to civilization in Kathmandu. I was dreaming for days of having again a simple shower in Kathmandu.

It was already dusk when I arrived at a lodge and stayed there overnight. Next morning I step out of the door and see this panorama. It snowed overnight and in front of me was this funny glas building with a sign "HOT SHOWER" on it. That was an absolute unique experience. The owner of the lodge climbed several times up that little tower and filled the black bucket with hot water. After that the shower was ready to be used. I entered that building and had the whole room and shower for myself. All around was open view (exception was the back! :) ). I took the best and most deserved shower in my life with the most amazing view ever. 5-Star shower in the middle of the Khumbu Region.

Olá Peter,

Those mountains look impressive (and liking mountains very much I feel wanting to jump into the image). I also like very much how clean the sky looks.

Great note too.

Parabéns!

Kind regards, saludos,
Carlos

Well Peter what can I say about such a wonderful shot. Best view ever for a shower is indeed the truth. Here I thought the sunlight would heat up the barrel of water. Knowing the host poured hot water in there makes it even more special. I am sure this was the most memorable shower in your entire life! Esp after hiking for 10 days without a shower! Whewww!!

Hi Peter...stunning location for a shower...this is "shower with a view"! Quality is very good considering it is a scan, ie excellent PP. Interesting note. Well done, regards, Robert

Hi Peter! I like your Namche Bazar 5-star for many reasons, two of which are: the great mountain viev and the realistic atitude.
Regards!
Anton

Hi Peter,
I really like the way you've framed hot shower against the majestic mountains. It struck me as very humorous; however, sounds like it was very serious business from your wonderful story. I'm not quite sure why you want a workshop because it all looks pretty good to me; but I'll give it a shot.
Regards, Pat

Hello Peter,
Superb quality - originally digital or not. Very scenic. Best wishes. Danilo

Hi Peter,
A fun one where I like the contrast between the cold suggested by this snow covered and majestuous mountain and the "hot" shower advertised in the foreground, it would be even better without the interfering roof but I guess burning it down was not an option... An image does not need to be the prettiest ever it it has a good story to tell and it's the case here, I had a good laugh and learned about the world. About the PP I think Pat had some pointers in the right directions, but I think she's overdone a bit in terms of saturation.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Great storytelling in your notes, Peter, and a beautiful and unusual photo to illustrate the unique experience at what must indeed be one of the most scenic locations for a shower imaginable anywhere in the world. Good handling of the bright light on the white surfaces, and nice layered view with the shower cabin in front and the mighty mountain range towering in the back.

Hello Peter,
A funny story in a wonderful place.
I've experimented a WS.
Regards,
Didier

Hello Peter,
very refreshing idea!:) I understand that this shower was very good for you with the story you tell us. Colors could be more saturated and I think that the 2 workshops already posted go in the good direction. Go on with you nice work!

Hello Peter!
Such a lovely scene!
I like so much this contrast of hot shower and frozen mountains!
It's great!
Best regards!

Hello Peter
Great device. What an excellent idea :).
Beautiful capture againt the high mountains.
Regards

A climber like myself don't usually look at tiny damage caused by scanners. All I can see is an awesome mountain scene with a little bit of humour :-) I like the mountains in the background but the water barrel and the sign is priceless. Very good work fixing this picture to decent levels Peter. Nice work :-)

Ama Dablam sure is one of the most beautiful mountains on the entire globe. The shape almost looks like the Matterhorn but the altitude slightly differs;)
Never have I seen a shower with a view comparable to this one. Incredible scenery. What I do not like about taking pictures of high mountains is that the outcome never conveys the actual size of them. On the image especially when using short focal lengths you simply don't see how impressive the scenery really was.
Anyways, I just lost the point of your picture... Uuhm, the shower truely is amazing and I can imagine that now after reading the critique you remember that shower one more time, right?
