Dying fire
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
| In Kathmandu, bodies get cremated all day long. After a ceremony, the body is simply set on fire; it then takes around 3 hours for the body to burn completely. There are special people keeping an eye on the fire. Here, you can see one of them attending a fire which is not doing very well; if you look well, you can still see an arm and a foot sticking out. I only realized this later when I was inspecting my pictures closely. An eerie sight... |

It's a stunning scene and you also managed a nice composition.

amazing scene! it must have been a strange sensation to watch this.
Hi Boris, a truly amazing scene. I knew it happened but not in such open surroundings. Excellent composition, even if the content is a bit gruesome. After all this is the essence of TE - not just pretty sunsets and the like! Best regards, Roberto
Looks like we were in the same place at about the same time. Probably the same bodies. That's another reason for having a TE badge, as has been discussed in the forum. As i look, i see you have focused on another body father in than mine. You have caught some good action here and recorded the feel of the place very well. That overhang at the top looks a bit distracting to me. I feel it should be parallel to the frame or missing entirely. Nice capture and a good note. Regards kevin
