Wonderful portrait Vincent.
Just the right amount of dof, f4.0 was jsut perfect here.
A bit off center, her head a bit tilted...very lovely. another proof that portraits do not always have to be vertical.

You have excellent detail and sharpness in this portrait, Vincent, so I wonder whether it would have had more impact if you had cropped it closer around the face (because there is not much detail in the OOF background). But it is still a great shot as it is - the wrinkles on her face suggest she has had a hard life, perhaps reinforced by the sad look that you have captured too. Cheers . . . David

peu de mots pour cette photo, c'est impressionnant comment tu as capté le regard fatigué et l'expression de tristesse dans le visage de cette vieille dame, marqué avec quelques grandes rides, je suppose que par la fatigue et la souffrance de toute une vie.
C'est une capture excellente, avec un grand travail dans l'exposition, qui estompe le fond de l'image et le sujet de la photo se fait remarquer.

Oui je me souviens qu'on m'appelait Didi lorsque j'étais au Népal, il y a pas mal d'années de ça :) A Goa on l'appellerait 'Aunty' cette femme au visage ridé qui semble poser pour toi, avec sa tête légèrement inclinée. Le flou à l'arrière sur l'architecture Népalaise fait encore plus ressortir le sujet principal.

LOL la note, je n'ai pas eu le plaisir de rencontrer Didi personnellement, mais c'est vrai que je l'imagine un peu different de ton portrait ;-)
Un portrait pris dans les regles de l'art avec une expression dubitative interessante, vu que tu as choisi de la centrer je l'aurais bien vu un poil plus serre et pris en vertical.

Pour moi Didi est le diminutif de Didier, mais en Egypte ce prénom m'a été refusé par l'état civil Egyptien, étant de père Egyptien, donc mon vrai prénom est Saïd, mais mes parents continuent à m'appeler Didi.

It's ashame that she has such a sad look on her face, undoubtedly because she has led a difficult and heavy life.

The word 'didi' is common in this part of the world. In India also, deifferent languages have this word 'didi' which means elder sister.
You have captured a great face. The wrinkles and tone are great. Shallow depth making it stand out from the surroundings.

La photo est sympa, mais c'est la note qui me plaît ici. Juste, utile, intéressante... La photo en devient l'illustration et tu inverses le "sens" normal des choses (je veux dire sur TE). Et le clin d'oeil à Didi est sympa.
