Rooftops of Marpha
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
| Rooftops are piled with wood, for the long cold winter ahead. Food is cooked with a few twigs at a time, the big wood is a sign of wealth in a area of few trees. The 2000 year old salt route is the village's main path. Once the home of rich traders, traveling back and forth, from India to Tibet, now trekkers are the only business. (I lived here over one month in 1996 with Moorpark College. I am standing on the roof of the house I had lived in, when I took this picture). |

A nice picture of a land that I have seen now. I like the subdues and rich colour and the pattern of the roofs. The village recedes into the valley and to the mountains nicely. Regards Kevin
