Well-Captured Vincent! Am wonderinf about the dof. Maybe the temple at the background, would have made the photo still richer. It is relevant to the subject.

Hi Vincent,
I don't think he's a real sadhu but who cares. The image it self is wonderful. The bokeh is very good with a soft background which brings the foreground much stronger to our eyes. I love his pose and the hand that waves to us.....truly a great catch here.

I think he is saying "Hi Mom!". Honestly, he looks more like a touristic attraction. Nevertheless, a good capture Vincent. I particularly like the shallow depth of field, which has worked well in isolating the man from the background. Regards,

The DOF you used is the first thing that screams out of the image. Even in the thumbnail the background looked like a painted backdrop. The sadhu's vibrantly coloured clothes really stand out against the hazy out-of-focus background. Well done

His expression makes him seem quite friendly, I can imagine he could be more than capable of appearing monstrous as well, I like the background as well, just blurry enough, while the temple architecture is identifiable.

It seems that this great series of yours never ends... And that's good!
A great portrait indeed, very catchy visually. You achieved putting in in context, with that bg where we can see the roofs of the main temple in the middle of the smoke that I imagine is from the cremations. You may have guessed that I know the place and although more than 12 years have passed since I was there, I still can figure exactly where you shoot it. :D

Superb clarity of detail and a fine exposure level. You really caught the light here and managed it well, as the background, though much lighter, is not overexposed and the slightly blurred, slightly smoky aura is most apropos, adding to the ambience. Very fine work, Vincent.

Très bon choix d'ouverture de diaphragme qui met l'accent et le focus sur le saint homme aux parures colorées tout en gardant au second plan le contexte flou aux tons pastels dans lequel il évolue. Deux beaux contrastes net/flou, couleurs chaudes/tons froids rappèlent les contrastes du pays. Le geste amical et la mine souriante de l'homme font une photo chaleureuse.

j'aime beaucoup les couleurs vives du sadhu qui se détache du fond pastel.L'angle de vue nous permet de voir une belle pagode,ce qui nous met dans l'ambiance de cette ville sacrée.Je voulais dire que la profondeur de chapms est suffisante pour être estompée afin que le sujet ressorte,mais qu'elle reste perceptible quand même,pour mon plus grand plaisir,surtout quand c'est beau comme ça!

Interesting portrait, the light is very natural, you have captured this person of a correct form, its positioning in a side of the scene balances the work, and its clothes create interesting contrasts with the rest of the landscape out of focus.
