Childcare Nepalese style !

| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
Potters Sq in Bhaktapur is a fascinating example of Nepalese daily life, away from the more tourist frequented squares in the city. Taking in the view on a very hot afternoon I spotted this very charming scene of a mother hard at work whilst looking after her baby girl. After sitting quite close by for awhile(this allowed for them to not be put off by my presence)the girl started idly playing with a water jug which kind of reminded me of a victorian painting.Anyway I used a fast shutter speed and exposed for subjects rather than background which has meant slight over exposure but cest lavie!
To me this shot is another reason why I love this country, it is so much more than just the Himalaya, to me its an absorbing mix of compatible cultures that remain to a greater degree untouched by the blandness of globalisation! |

such sadness expressed here. I think your harsh contrast and vibrant color really adds to this scene as well. The composition in leaving the many pots to the left is a gift
thank you
