| Across the lake by boat, is a tiny island with a Hindu temple upon it. Pilgrims take the colorful boats across the lake to feed the birds and lake fish. They can buy small bowls of offerings to make a puja (holy ceremony for blessings) to the Gods. Then they take the prasad, which is bits of candy, fruit, to eat, ochre powder for tikas, a red spot on your forehead, and bless everyone at home. |
