| It is Dassain, the most important festival of the year. This young man is carrying his sister on his back, up the mountain. Everyone puts a tika of rice mixed with heavy cream and ochre on everyone else's forehead for the Gods blessings. Everyone tries have a bite of goat meat at the least. It is an occasion for new clothes. If you cannot buy any, then you wear the best you own. Every guest is offered goat meat, and a drink, upon arrival. It can be delicious buffalo milk or rockshi, the local home made alcohol. |
