[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
There many steps leading up to Swayambunath (The Monkey temple), the largest and most ancient Buddhist temple in Nepal. All the way up , craftsmen and artisans work beside the steps and sell their products to the passing pilgrims and tourists. I stopped to take some pictures of a stonecutter working. Then my eye, and my lens, turned to his mother, lying in front of a ramshackle hut behind. Her face bore witness to a hard life full of poverty. She is typical of so many in Nepal, which is the 6th poorest nation in the world.Where so many have to struggle to live from day to day.

Yes! A beautiful face that tells a story! A really fantastic capture. I love her expression! Have a great day!

Hello kevin o'sheehan!
Doubtlessly, her expression is the money here. You've taken it from perfect position,(i:e, not envolving too much of her body).Perfectly saturated one.
But dear friend, i personally feel that you shouldn't have included greenery to the left.It slightly diverts my concentration off her.(I may be wrong)
I've posted a workshop, and hoping you to like it.Thanks!.(Best of luck for future)

Hi Kevin! excellent shot!Very good portrait. A woman of big age that impresses with the expression of person and the interesting attitude Very good captured with the natural lighting that causes impression and a lot wrinkle in the cuticle

Hi Kevin,
impressing face and hair but any reason why she looks a bit angry? I like the reduced DOF, pleasant for a portrait. Well taken off-centre but I think vice versa would have been better.

That's a face. That's a typical face from Asia : strong, moving and beautiful.
Impressive.

hi kevin,
i am impressed by the deep wrinkles on her face,I love those "everyday life" scenes... showing the true face of the life of those people.

hi Kevin

Powerful portrait. I can imagine how excited you would be to take this shot, knowing fully well that you found a good subject. What to say on the expression and attire, simply beautiful portrait work.

From one look, you will know the effect of hard life on the face after long years of struggle.

Hi Kevin,

Nice portrait which conveys the suffering and hardlife of this woman. The light was not the best, but is not too bad anyway. Nepal seems to have such a mixing culture and features.

Flavia

Great face, Kevin. A good natural pose with tired eyes and enough wrinkles to fascinate us. Even her (not smilling) mouth is an eruption of wrinkles - looks like having 100th years, but she's problably much younger.

ricardo
