Priceless documentation, Kevin...
It seems that I have never enough of these kind of photos in my 'oh so perfect' life in a civilized country...
It is something that stops you in your track...Something that stops you from breathing...
Is this possible in 21st.century...?
How diverse is our world...???
I've got to go and check the date again...
2007
It is 21st. century !
My...my...my...?
BW, good buddy...
Keep running breathlessly
george
Hi Kevin!
I totally agree with George!
And I`m very happy because today I booked a flight for a 4 and a half weeks trip to India in january. It`s a great shot of this butcher`s shop.Scenes like this are the reason to travel to countries where the livingstandard is not so high develeoped and complicated like here. The bright red cloth makes this an excellent composition.

Hello Kevin,
When in Nepal (and a lot of other places), turn vegetarian. That's my advise.
Good picture of the kind of glimpse of everyday life that I like. The red cloth almost steals the show from the goats' skulls. I guess I could have used a little bit more contrast and sharpness.
Best regards,
Gert

Good evening Kévin,
While walking me in the mountains of Morocco I saw butcheries identical to this one.
Same heads of sheep, some roasted, of another “nature”.
These photographs are “true” : I also saw the same scene in May 2008.
Good evening Kévin,
Amicalement

Kevin: a typical Nepali scene - but you've done a great job of canning the atmosphere here. Nice details here also. Green to follow. regards, c

Hello Kevin, The red cloth with its 'Still Life' of goat bones has great impact, definitely reminding me of the 'Vanitas' element in Dutch paintings. There certainly looks to be more dirt around than blood, but hygiene must involve expense and there cannot be much profit in these very basic businesses.
Great colours and composition - the red cloth balances the fact that the man's gaze is directed out of the frame.
Best wishes....Maggie

Hello Kevin,
A great daily life shot, which typifies life in these countries. The red cloth seems very appropriate and makes a good contrast with the more sombre tones of the rest of the image.

This is like going way back in time. A great capture, I like the pose and expression of the storekeeper. A very good picture showing us a very different life. TFS and have a happy day!

Hi Kevin.
Thanks for this timeless record of a way of life that seems not yet quite ready to pass. The shot seems to have captured these men very candidly, preoccupied, each of them, with thoughts or daily tasks. The bones on the red table cloth seem a meagre offering to passers by. What stark conditions the butcher works in, how flimsy the walls of the shop. Great shot.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Kevin!
Excellent shot! The composition is perfect, I like the details of the little shop. Seems there isn't much to sell anymore and the man looking at the street is simply great.

Bonsoir,

I was amazed to c the comment doubting this photo.. its real and its way too clean in there..nth to do with 21st century its just the way it is... dosn't imply that all butcher shop are alike, they are way too better places than that one in terms of interior decoration. i bet the shop behind this one is starbux..!!

Such a great shot, Kevin. Great composition. Can't stop to look to these elements of the goat on the red cloth. The guy sitting on the left and looking to another scenery is cool. Wonderful capture.

Hello Kevin,
Many thanks for sharing the daily life from Kathmandu! the red cloth really brings out the colour contrast from this simple butcher shop, seems like not much things inside to me!
best regards

Hello Kevin! Okay I am not sure if I want to have a closer look but this is how meet is presented in other parts of the world. My sister in law is a kindergarden teacher and she found out that some of her little "students" have no idea where meat or milk comes from and refer to the shelves at the grocery store. Strange world, hey? You certainly give us a deeper "inside" look ... very good documentation work, as George says! With my best regards ... Barbara.

Hi Kevin,
Butcher shops in some countries could turn meat eaters into hardcore vegetarians, I remember similar scenes in Bolivia with the flies moving around... Nice image with apparently not so much business so the guy has time to look around, ideally he should look towards the image interior though but he's not too close to the frame. His shirt adds good highlights to the view.
Have a nice day jY

It's one of the best things of travelling, Kevin. Waking up in another era...These kind of butchers fascinate and disguste me at the same time - Ana can't even get close, but it impels me to push the button of my camera. Nice presentation of this little theatre where the prize rest on a red throne.
regards,
ric
