[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Pity I dont remember my poser's name, lets call him Gul Khan.
I remember his story though. A young man, Gul Khan belongs to a nomad shepherd tribe of Afghanistan, displaced in the eighties (80's) by the Soviet invasion, Gul Khan and his family (whatever was left of it) crossed the Durnad line into Pakistan in search of 'life', they survived, he now looks after a herd of sheep with the help of his cousin. During the days of 'Eid-ul-Adha' they being their sheep into the metro Islamabad in a hope to sell some for the sacrifice, and to make enough money for rest of the year. I caught up with him and his cousin on their way towards the North Western Pakistan, on their way to another year in anticipation.

Hello Kamran,
One should not read too much into a face, but it's easy to imagine that the intense eyes of this man express a life of hardship and struggle for survival as a refugee. A very good portrait in good colours, also showing some of the environment where this man lives.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hi Kamran,
A good portrait with very good colour & detail. Even though it's closely cropped I like that the BG is visible & get an idea of the environment he lives in. I also liked your note.
Well done
Santo

Nice and simple portrait of this man - with an interesting story. Consistent colors and a nice pose from him.

Hi Kamran, very good natural pose and portrait of this shepard with very good light and colour. I like the intensity you see in the stare. Composition is very good with a good crop around your subject. Very excellent note.

Thanks, John
