Gul Mohammed one of the Afghan Instructurs. I wonder if he still is in the region of Quetta.

Hi Roar. Welcome to TE. This is a good strong portrait and I like that you got some of the environment around him as well as his face, which has a lot of character. As much as I hate to lose some of that background, I do think it would be a little stronger if he wasn't centered in the frame (sort of a standard trick to make your subject off center. So I cropped him and sharpened him a bit in a workshop.

Hi!
Sorry, I don't know the man in the photo...
One thing I know though is that this portrait is very well done! I really like the look of his eyes straight into the camera and straight into your soul... great work giving great feeling. Thanks for sharing!
Saule.

Roar, I don't know the man but I know some members on this site that live in Balochistan. I am assuming Quetta but not sure. I will point them towards the photo.

PS - great shot. Really detailed face that is just popping out of the background. The composition actually works with the man in the middle because of the DOF and the interesting background. Good job and good luck.

John

Welcome to TE Roar. Your first contribution asks for more. This is a real fine portrait. I like the light on the mans face and the expression on his face is great. Well done Ingrid
