Manila is East-West personified. Here in the old plaza of Sta. Cruz fronting a baroque church dedicated to Our Lady of the Pillar stands Chinatown, one of Asia's oldest and largest.
This is one of the fu dogs standing by the gate, welcoming and exhorting all citizens and visitors to partake of the goodies - food, clothes, fruits, lucky charms - that can be found within its walls. |
