The World’s Most Remote City Part-3

Petropavloysk Kamchatsky Far Far Eastern Russia
This is Holy Trinity Cathedral
It is a functioning Russian Othhodox Catherdal.

This Cathedral sits upon a hill with amazing views of both the city and the volcanic mountains in the far distance. Inside the cathedral is a wall and ceiling painted sanctuary; I posted in the workshops a view of the public dwellings seeable in the distance and a view inside of a painted wall and ceiling. Wonderful colors. The construction of the cathedral began in September 2001. On June 28, 2002, a capsule with the relics of Anthony, Eustathius and John were laid at the base of the church while under construction.

Standing in front of this brightly colored Cathedral and snow capped mountains in the distance I almost could not believe that I am here. I had not heard of this place, I know no one who has been here and yet it is an amazing powerful sight – how come it is such a lost horizon place. I felt blessed and lucky to be here and see. I hope some of you can trek here also..

Some have asked: Answer - I arrived here by boat from northern Japan.
