Photographer's Note

In the Dzhalisu valley there is a wide variety of queer rock formations, “castles”, “teeth”, “mushrooms” and other. Most of all, I like these natural sculptures, because they resemble mountain-climbers for me. Many of real climbers start from there to mount the Elbrus. But maybe they actually are those monks or nuns from Danos’ picture, who have left a warm Greek island for travel around the green Caucasus Mountains.

Hello Sergiy,

These are unusual formations, reminiscent of the formations in Cappadocia. I wonder what the composition of these rocks are, if indeed they've been carved by the elements. Are they perhaps tufa rock?

These natural sculptures are quite remarkable! I can see why people have compared them to familiar objects. To me, they resemble the tall, conical hats that we made for the children, who were pretending to be princesses, at Christmas!
Good sharpness and fine detials.
The bare ground below the rocks makes a diagonal, which helps to divide the frame into thirds.
If I have one little criticism, it is the positioning of the tent. For me, it should have been deeper into the shot, or not there at all.

Très intéressante cette photo et merveilleuses sculptures de la nature. Excellent éclairage et qualité d'image qui les mettent bien en valeur. J'aime un peu moins la tente en bas et j'ai préparé un WS mais ça reste quand même une belle photo.

Hello Sergiy,
It reminds me a little at the rock formations in Cappadocia.
These grey 'teeth' or 'mushrooms' contrast strong with the lush green hillside which in turn looks very colourful with the many flowers.
The inclusion of the big tent gives us a better idea of the scale, but it's not really a beautiful tent. Most likely this last isn't a concern for the climbers. As long as the tent provides them the necessary shelter and comfort.

This is very interesting story. The variety of rock formations are amazing and wonderful.The natural sculptures are mysterious.I'm just wonder, how long it's took to get size like this? Who knows.I love this picture.Sergiy, you show us many interesting places, I'm so greatful.Thanks for sharing.

Very curious natutal sculptur. An excellent presentation of these sculptur with a POV well selcetd. i like too the harmony in the color with the mixt between the green of the vegetation and the color of the rocks. Sympatic element of life withe campinghouse on the right.

Caprices of nature, are formations are really beautiful and original, wonderful POV to the diagonal of the mountainside and jagged rocks silhouetted against the beautiful sky.
Very bright day with which the green dotted with a few flowers, is ideal, the bright light makes us enjoy this beautiful place.

Impressive these natural sculptures that dominating the scene.I like the brilliant light of the image,the vivid colours as the existence of the tent that the nuns are sleeping at nights...

В который раз наблюдаю, что видимо цветоперадача у твоего SONY другая, в результате и трава и небо выглядят необычно. Классно, но иначе, чем у других.
Или на Кавказе цвета отличаются. Вобщем, озадачил ты меня этим.
Интересные скульптуры создала природа,наверное этому есть объяснение.

Good morning Sergiy,
I had got behind in my TE critiques, so here I am again, catching up on enjoying my friends'photographs.
These again are very special formations that seem to be a characteristic of eastern Europe and Turkey for instance.
You captured them well . I like the analogy with Danos's Greek nuns ! I was fooled by that picture.
Good composition with the tent at the bottom and the little flowers on the slope. The yellow of the flowers recalls the yellow of the tent.
It must be a good place to camp, but is there any water nearby?
