Photographer’s Note

I'm posting this one as a tribute to this year's summer. It was a nice summer for me - I married, I become PhD, - and not so nice for the world, may I say, with this stupid Financial Crisis thing on a full swing. But anyway.

Here are
Inachis io, or European Peacock butterfly. It's a medium-sized butterfly of the genus Inachis, very common for Northern Europe; it can be seen very early in Spring and more or less late in Autumn as well.
As it's said about this thing in wiki, it drinks nectar from different flowers, and also utilize rotten fruits and tree sap.
Photo taken in relatively warm and nice day in the middle of September, during a walk in the suburbs of St-Petersburg.

Now days are shorter, and air in the morning chilly and tells of cold days and dark evenings. So another warm season is over, and another winter will come soon.
Reflections, huh? Soon reflections in the pools will become reflections in the frozen water. Completely different POV and sort of reflections they are, surely.

But whatever. So many words about one little butterfly!
