Photographer’s Note
Monument to Breaking the Siege of Leningrad. Siege happened during the WW II, for 900 days Leningrad was beseiged by Nazi forces, which led to the great losses of civilians and cultural heritage as well.
Monument depicts the place where 42-kilometers long Road of Life started. Road was created after Nazis cut all the ground connections to the Leningrad. But as water way through Ladoga Lake was possible to use, great fleet of different vessels started its functioning, supplying the city and its army with food and ammunition.
This way was named Road of Life and it functioned 3 years long, and without it Leningrad would fall to Nazis in couple of weeks.

Hello snowy owl,
An impressively simple monument, contrasting with the usual heroic style of the postwar period in yoru country. Well presented in its simplicity enhanced by the snow cover.
Regards,
Paul

Hello Uhu,
An interesting monument for this dramatic historic event!
A well composed presentation with a strong lead-in, the pale colours of autumn are attractive...
And I notice the first snow of the season, it looks cold for November..!
Greetings,
Pablo -
