Red Square at night
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
| Merry Christmas to all the friends that I have met on TE over the last 2 years. For I bit of Christmas flavour I have posted a recent picture taken in Red Square on a November night with St Basil's floodlight and the Ghom shoppin centre illuminated for the coming Christmas period. I used a friends shoulder to help achive the 1/8 sec exposure. With the ixus you don't really know what the speed is until you look at the download data afterwards so I was pleaseantly surprise with the eventual quality of this shot. The big bonus of the isus is its size which is a bit different to carrying around an SLR and 3 lens which I normally. |

Colin,
This is a great night photo. The colors and lighting are great with nice sharpness. I like the blue hue in the sky, it helps define the buildings.

Hi Colin, amazing view of the square, with teh Ghom lights well captured and the Saint Basil cathedral on the back perfectly captured.
thanks, and Merry Xmas and happy new year, ciao
An excellent night shot of the plaza and surrounding buildings. I like the way the buildings have been decorated with many lights. Nice picture with good colors and definition. Cheers and Happy New Year Colin :-)

Not a bad night-time capture for a little Ixus, Colin - especially as you were using a shoulder as a tripod! However, I think this would have looked better cropped to remove the spotlights on the left and some of the empty foreground - see Workshop post for what I mean. Cheers . . . David
