I took this photo at Mita-won, a Buddhist temple and charnel house which was too crowded with visitors on Buddha’s birthday.

The white paper lanterns are to pray for the Gukrakwangsaeng (easy passage into eternity) of the deceased, and the colored paper lanterns are to pray for the wealth and honor of the living.

This picture is a negative film scan (Fujifilm X-TRA 400) using an Epson 4990 scanner.
