Photographer’s Note

Low tide at the mouth of the Hangang (River) which flows down from Seoul, & exits in the Yellow Sea, near here. The hardy saltbush is testamount to the lack of frequent salt water at high tide, in these parts. The forgotten fishing boats in the bg, are slowly falling apart. The myriad of holes in the mud, are the homes of small crabs.

Hello Chris,
The abandoned and decrepit fishing boats combined with the saltbush makes for an interesting study in textures. An interesting palette of tones and good sharpness.

Today we presented almost similar type of shots Chris, the boats of fishermen resting in land and the time is low tide. Light control is nice even such bad climate. Depth and clarity outstanding. Very well done.

This is a nice shot of these decaying boats. The angle of the shot works well giving the scene a sense of depth and direction. The lighting and colors are fine with excellent sharpness and detail.

Triste fin pour ces bateaux de pêche qui gisent au sec.
Bon document. Les couleurs sont toutefois dures, créant une atmosphère particulière dans ce cimetière à bateaux.

Hi Chris,

The point of view is showing the details and colors of the abandonned boats rusting away. It is also taking our eyes toward the mountains which is giving depth to the composition. The low light is giving darker colors to the scenery. Have a nice day.

Hi Chris, There is something very attractive about small fishing boats and you have captured the essence well. Many men spend almost all their working days on such boats and this is like a tribute to them. The provide the fish so many enjoy. A quaint way to see them. TFS. Murray.

Amazing that old shipwreck or abandoned fishing boat make such interest and good subject of photography, your image is a good example. the colorful saltbush addes much colors to the foreground. Really good sharpness and nice texture overall and a melo evening tone, yet beautiful. thanks.
