Photographer’s Note
Taejongdae Park Observatory, is south of Busan, a city of over 4 million people, on the south eastern tip of Korea, facing Japan. From "Korea Tourism Org":
"Designated as a Busan monument, along with Oryukdo Island, Taejongdae represents Busan, and is especially famous for its rock beach. Featuring its highest peak at 250 meters, there are forests of pine trees and over 200 varieties of trees. Taejongdae was named after the 29th king of the Silla Dynasty BC57~AD 935), King TaeJong Mu-Yeol (604~661). King Tae-jong had traveled to many places but this was the place he enjoyed shooting arrows. Under the lighthouse of this resort is a rock called Sinseon Rock, named after the myth that gods and goddesses came down here to relax. At this rock is a figure called Mangbuseok, named after the story of a woman who waited for her husband who had been taken to Japan. Taejongdae is also famous for the ritual of praying for rain, performed when there are droughts, and rain on the 10th of lunar May is called the 'Taejong Rain'. On days with clear skies you can see Japan’s Daema Island from the observatory."
Here's a wider angled view of the observatory, by another photographer:

Hi Chris,
Lovely view, with the lonely and picturesque pine tree well framed with the building. The architecture of the building makes an interesting visual arrangement with the landscape.

Hello Chris!
The beautiful building of that observatory (its round shape and modern architecture) matches perfectly with the nature around!
I think that the tree worked very nicely in the composition! The ships in the sea are also pretty interesting, adding more beauty to the whole scene!
TFS - Congratulations!

Nice shot Chris! The colour is what immediately gets my attention, with the bright blue of the sea being very attractive. I like the combination of the building on one side and the tree on the other side, which gives a kind of yin/yang contrast to this. Nice work!

It looks like a busy stretch of coast judging by the number of ships/boats we can see on the picture. The Observatory seems very pretty and the POV is magnificent. I really like the soft colour of the water. Well done.

Hi Chris, Excellent timing to get the moving ship well placed in this composition. The natural side vs the manmade side looks excellent together. TFS. Murray.

Namaste Chris
The observatory & the tree balances each other very well, with the small island between them. The blue of the sea is very nice & the horizon is almost fluid. Good light & impressive sharpness in this well taken shot. I presume Prism is the name of a restaurant there?
