Photographer’s Note

Dongmyeongbulwon Sa is a Buddhist temple in Nam Gu, a southern suburb of metropolitan Busan, which has around 4 million people. I've seen similar shots uploaded from Vietnam before, but not from Korea. Surprisingly, there is zero information on this temple on the internet. I am the only one mentioning it. I only found it, because it was marked on the Choryang tourist map, in English.

Choryang is the foreigners enclave opposite Busan KTX Station. Many Russians shop there.

Hello Chris,

The Golden Buddha statues offer excellent highlight to the scene. The note informs the photo very nicely. As a child, I would hear my father explain on a map how the Korean War was unfolding, and Pusan (evidently Busan now) would figure into the explanations. He was military officer in Turkey, but a contingent of Turkish troops was posted in Korea, and my father kept close track of developments there.

Typical atmosphere, the tiny pink hanging flags (not finding a better word) are fun in their repetition.
Russian shops ? I was there before the shopkeepers arrived I guess, interesting ! (When I was there, I only saw, as "white people" many people from the US army - virtually no tourists !)
