Photographer’s Note

Haeundae Beach in Busan, South Korea. The most beautiful and the most popular beach in Korea, so they say.
Sandy shore of relatively shallow bay offers nice water, for children and adults alike, to swim and play for hours. Refreshing breeze from the ocean allows to stay there for hours but watch you don't get sunburned.
There are many hotels and condos along the beach, a lot of restaurants with aquariums full of fish and all kinds of seafood you can choose from. Many street stalls offer quick and not expensive meals, everything fresh and everything local so it's a good idea to have a local guide who could tell you what that deliciously looking thing is. Not everything that smells like fish is actually a fish. So if you have something against chewy octopus or a sea worm, have a guide with you. But the chance of eating what the locals eat is there for you. They are good cooks and they know their seafood, worth trying, believe me.
The beach is surrounded by low laying area that could be subject to quick flooding in case of tsunami. At each end of the beach there are hills designated as evacuation areas with shelters against bad weather and a lot of signs pointing to escape routes. It does not happen too often but everything is ready, just in case.
