The beach at Welligama showing the stretch used by the slilt fishermen who are famous the world over in tourist books. After enjoying a pleasant holiday there this year we can relate to the area that we now view on television and we remember the people that we met.

great work, I like the man on the stick, very traditional shot, well done

Un coin de paradis desormais immortalise sur cette splendide photo.

Lovely shot Colin, I love the capture of the fisherman. Sadly these are probably the ones most lost in the tragedy there. Hopefully their traditional ways of fishing won't be lost also. The colors in this are nice, and I like the shadows of the palms on the beach. Nice clear photo.

A beautiful shot of this spot and quite well composed. Inclusion of the palm fronds along with the waves, bring a sense of motion. I can't help but wonder what it looks like now after the tragic events of the past week.

Very nice shot. It would be interesting to see the shot taken from a lower angle to see if the fisherman on the stilt changes the strength of the composition.

What a lovely picture of Sri Lanka. I like the soft pastel color and the open composition. It is sad to think this place may not exist anymore.
