Photographer’s Note

A Ceylan, le thé est un cadeau des dieux.
Il couvre les montagnes d'un tapis d'or vert.
Le matin, les premiers rayons du soleil illuminent les feuilles les plus tendres.
Ces grandes moquettes épousent les reliefs, sculptent les paysages, illuminent le décors.

Plus on monte, plus le thé pousse lentement, plus il est savoureux et cher. Plus il est difficile a cultiver. Ici, nous sommes à 2000 m d'altitude environ.
Les matinées sont fraiches et le spectacle grandiose.

In Ceylon, the tea is a gift of the gods.
It covers the mountains of a green gold carpet.
The morning, the first rays of the sun illuminate the most tender sheets.
These large fitteds carpet marry the reliefs, carve the landscapes, illuminate the decorations.
The more one goes up, the more the tea pushes slowly, the more expensive and tasty it is.
Here, we are to 2000 m of altitude approximately.
The mornings are cool and the spectacle is imposing.

Salut Bertrand,
dans la première seconde en voyant la vignette, je me suis dit: "encore le vieux chêne qui refait surface !!!!" :)
Et puis non, il n'est pas au Sri Lanka et n'a pas de thé à côté de lui...
Toujours est-il que ta composition est toujours aussi bonne pour ce genre de sujet, les trainées dans la culture de thé apporte beaucoup de dynamisme.

Bonjour Bertrand,
De retour cette fois ci?
Les beaux décors s'offre toujour à toi comme des cartes postales.
Ici le petit arbre rentre très bien dans l'image et sans lui d'ailleurs la photo n'aurais rien donné.Toujours une bonne note qui accompagne mais on ne change pas une équipe qui gagne.

Salut Bertrand,

I was already missing your "minimalistic" shots! This one, although the tree looks like the ones you took in France, has a definite Eastern touch to it because of the tea plantation. Awesome light, colours, tilt, perspective... everyting!

This is great - I like the big block of blue sky and the big block of lush green from the tea plantation and the diagonal formed between the two. The solitary tall tree gives a brilliant vertical accent to the image. The light and colours are superb.

J'ai tout d'abord cru que tu avais incliné le sol volontairement. J'ai ensuite remarqué que l'arbre était parfaitement droit. Cette image graphique et très lumineuse et très simple. Félicitation pour l'idée.

Tiens je te croyais au Cambodge, tu as fait un petit stop sur le retour ?
C'est encore ici une declinaison d'un theme qui t'est cher, une forte diagonale qui se finit sur un arbre solitaire c'est simple et efficace, ici en plus une petite touche d'exotisme, bon allez hop tournee generale !

Bonjour Bertrand,
une photo remplie de belles lumières, puissantes mais non saturantes.
J'aime beaucoup cette pente verte, diagonale avec le bleu du ciel, et cet arbre bien droit.
Voilà bien une photo qui évoque ce dont tu parles dans le commentaire avec beaucoup de poésie, la prolifération du thé.

I love the high contrast used for the picture.
Shadows really work here to bring u the texture of the tea field.

Hi Bertrand, A nice shot to the gentle rolling hill of the tea field. Good to include to the straight tree as a reference to the hill slop. Nice to show the layers of the tress brushes. The contrast is a little too strong even with the polarizer filter.

Well Bertrand I am a big fan of low angled lighting so I pick this one to comment. After I read your Intro comments I realized how true it is to keep your memory sharp by being involved in photography.
I like this off level approach to the tea field. The distant tree is absolutely necessary for offset balance and concludes the composition. Excellent work Dr Bertrand!

J'adore le thé mais hélas je n'ai jamais vu de telles plantations,c'est merveilleux.
Les couleurs sont splendides, la lumière aussi . La pureté de ta composition : cette ligne simple et ce petit arbre se detachant dans le ciel plus que bleu , laisse place à la contemplation.
