Silkroad travels: Pamir
Life is based partially on self reliance in Alichur. But the inhabitants cannot produce the wheat, potatoes and fruit needed for a living, these staples are offered on the market, NGO's also help providing them.

Traditional lifestlyle has not disappeared during Soviet times since the Pamir was of no strategic or economic importance to the Union. This Wakhi woman is an Ismailit muslim, she allowed me to take the picture.

I show the milkman of Alichur in the workshop section.

The JPG picture was cropped, contrast slightly enhanced, resized and sharpened.

This is a great picture and your were very lucky to be able to take her on photo. The high POV is good and the colours excellent. Her expression really shows that she had given her consent. What type of carpet is she making? It seams to be pretty long. Well done.
Interestingly, the WS shows a quite big contrast in the way of life. I did not expect to see the milkman on a motorbike when I read your note.

Hallo Dieter!
Wieder ein interessantes Bild - wie aus einer anderen Zeit, und das trifft ja wohl irgendwie auch zu! Der Bildaufbau zeigt wunderschön, was diese Frau schon geleistet hat!
Das ws-Foto ist - wie meine Söhne sagen würden - ein Brüller (darauf kannst Du Dir was einbilden! ;-)

Ich hoffe, Ihr Schweizer habt Euer politisches Erdbeben gut überstanden! Die Welt wird sich weiterdrehen ... ;-)

Hallo Dieter,
ein interessantes Foto, welches uns zeigt, wie mit einfachsten Mitteln schöne Dinge entstehen können. Die Weberin blickt dich etwas verständnislos an. Das WS-Foto gefällt mir übrigens sogar noch besser.

Hallo Dietrich,

ein schönes Portrait und auch ein wundervoller Teppich. Mein Traum wäre auch mal hier durch zu fahren, mit dem MTB (natürlich sportlicher!) oder mit meinem Motorrad. Bin richtig neidisch auf den Milchmann :D !!
