Photographer’s Note

Silk road travel:
This is not the Silk road and never was but the Wakhan valley road, formed by the Panj river (that upstream changes its name into Wakhan). The picture has been taken between Ishkashim and Namadgut Poyon. The valley plain is formed by giant gravel deltas. On such deltas agriculture is limited to pasturing. The foothills to the left hide two bigger mountains, the Mayakovskyi peak (6095 m alt.) and a barely visible unnamed peak of 6092 m. The altitude of the road is about 2600 m alt.

I had to process the JPG picture in PS: contrast enhancing, straightening, cropping, size reducing, sharpening.
