Wat Phra Keo, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, serves as the royal chapel and such is located in one corner of the Grand Palace compound, unlike other Buddhist temples, it has no resident monks.

About the Emerald Buddha
The fable statue - the Phra Keo - was discovered when lightning struck an ancient stupa in northern Thailand in the early 15th century. Over the next five centuries, legends accumulated around the small seated image - 26 inches high and 19 inches wide at the lap span, actually carve from a semiprecious jade. It was enshrined in a number of northern cities and also, for more than 250 years, in Laos; the future Kind Rama I brought it back to Thailand after having destroyed Vientiane to take possession of it, and later made it the principal Buddha image of his new capital Bangkok. The image is most venerated of all the thousands in the country. Today the Emerald Buddha sits high atop an ornate throne of gilded robe in this bot.

About the shot
Taken several shots in this angle to avoid unwanted human body parts in the foreground. Taken in raw, adjusted saturation, curves and levels and fix lens distortion using PS3.

Hi Albert,
This is not your best picture. There's to much sharpness in it and the contrast is also extreme.
Just my opinion if course. I prefer it more natural...

Hi Albert,
beautiful architecture of temple, good composition. I like the contrast and pleasant effect of polariser on the sky. Good note also.

Bonjour, cher Albert,
Que dire devant tant de magnificence, rien, regarder, s'emplir les yeux de cette architecture, comprendre toutes les subtilités liées à la construction, la richesse des ornements.
Un pur régal.
Amitiés.
Philippe

The very difficult light has resulted in some hard contrast. That is unavoidable in these conditions and I think you have handled the difficulties very well. You chose a good angle for your composition so you could show as much as possible of the wonderful architecture. Good work

Hi Albert,
ah superb architecture, I have been visiting that one too when I came to Thailand, I like a lot these details of the roofs. You have very strong contrasts in thims image but it is well exposed and benefits from pleasant sky with clouds.
Have a nice week end JY

Hey Albert,

Amazing ornate details of the temple is very attractive. Though a bit too contrasty, loosing some deatils in view. The blue sky compensates to the entire picture giving an imposing imagery of the palace. Still loved the shot dude!

Cheers!

Jom
