[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This is one of the large statues of mythical guardians, half human-half bird that surrounds the Royal Pantheon you can see at the background. The statues contains the scared Buddhist scriptures, the Tripitaka.

The Royal Pantheon was constructed during the reign of King Rama IV in 1855. He intended to place the Emerald Buddha here but the building was not completed until after his death. His successor, King Rama V, considered the building too small to accommodate the congregation at royal ceremonies so the Emerald Buddha was not placed in this building. A small gilt stupa belonging to King Rama IV was placed there instead.

The Emerald Buddha was placed at the main Bot(click here" to see the bot) instead.

About the shot
My objective here is to get the detail of the statue and capture the Pantheon at the background. I tried to crawl to get a more lower angle and at least get the top and bottom of the Partheon, but due to space constraints and lens limitation,(i guess?), this was the best picture i could get.

Taken in raw, adjusted curves and levels, sharpen using USM in PS3.

Hello,

très belle statue, quel effet, ce cadrage est mangigique et la montre de très belle façons, superbe.

Bravo et amitiés

Nicou

your hard work resulted in a great angle. I just wish you could have worked it so we could see the statues face instead of hte back of its head. Two points anyway!! TFS.

Bonsoir Albert
très belle lumière qui met en valeur de nombreux détails dans cette photo. J'aime bien le cadrage en contre-plongée. Beau travail.

Excellente composition, avec de magnifiques couleurs, j'aime beaucoup !
Bonne soirée

Hello Albertz,

Your POV gives a very impressive aspect to this statue of mythical guardian. Good colors and details. The BG with the Royal Pantheon is too a good idea. Congratulations,
Roger

I like the low POV, giving it the sense of 'authority' and the clever compositioning including the place it intends to guard.

Well done again ;)
