Photographer's Note

Bangkok International Airport a little before midnight. I had just completed the Brisbane to Bangkok sector with code share Thai Airways which is about 9 hours 30 minutes flying time. I never left the airport, as I had another flight booked for Istanbul early the next morning around 12 am with Turkish Airlines, arriving in Istanbul at 5:30 am. I like the repetitive futuristic design of this new airport, as it was an improvement on Don Muang to the north of Bangkok. This airport is near Samut Prakan to the south. The official name of the airport is Suvarnabhumi, which in English is Cobra Swamp. This area is in the vicinity of the Chao Phraya River delta, hence it is low, flat and marshy.
