This is a statue of Dipsy, the green Tubby with a straight dipstick on his head, hence his name.

Sorry Mr. Buddha. This is just a joke...

Among the ancient monuments within the city wall of Sukhothai, the largest and most impressive is Wat Mahathat, where this Buddha statue is enshrined in a pillared outdoor pavillion.

Yeah- you might want to be carefull with that joke- you might just get arrested! Hahaha...

Excellent composition and tonal range. The color might be just a bit over the top- but makes for a nice presentation.
The pin-stripe framing finishes it off nicely.

Hello Andre,
Once again I like your composition where you have not included the entire subject in the frame. The colour here is special and I love the sun peeping through the gap in the arm. Nice crisp outline on silhouette of the Buddha, and the trees add just that bit extra.

Hello André. An elegant silhouetted compositino with the Buddha statue against the vivid hues of color in the sky. Good shooting angle to partially blank out the opposing sun, yet get a sufficiently vivid shine-through effect behind the statue. Greetings from Tokyo.

That yellow/orange/lila/purple of gradient is really awesome. You captured some great light my friend whitin a perfect exposure. Of course the Buddha is there for the composition, but what really makes this image is the light...stunning..!!!

Ah your titles! :) What can I say about this one? It looks like a drawing. The silhouette is so perfectly delineated that really looks that has been drawn. Once again the Barbie hour, a clear trademark of yours. Very beautiful.

Bonjour, André. Le dégrédé dans le ciel est splendide. Il constitue une excellente toile de fond pour la silhouette du Bouddha. Le soleil partiellement caché par le bras donne de joiles teintes orangées.

j'ai visité ce site magnifique mais a l'époque j'avais qu'un argentique et je ne m'aventurai pas la ce style de photo, difficile pour moi a l'époque, superbe réussite avec ces couleurs top et le bouddah en ombre chinoise, bravo

Tu ne t'en doutes peut être pas, mais tu as posté ici une véritable photo d'actualité compte tenu des différents articles parus de jours dans la presse européenne. En voici un exemple. Alors méfie toi car ton image sera peut être censurée surtout avec de telles couleurs de fond. Heureusement tu a choisi Dipsy, qui lui n'a pas de sac à main, mais just une proéminence qui se tient très droite sur sa tête. C'est beaucoup moins équivoque! ;o))

Ton ciel est magnifique et j'aime comme tu as cadré le soleil. La netteté de la silhouette de la statue est remarquable.

Hello Andre,
I think that "Mr. Buddha" would love your joke. I am sure that Siddartha would have hated those ridiculous looking laughing green buddha statues. He was probably about 7% body fat and a yoga master. Your photo is magnificent! you simply MUST enter this in the National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest. It is a one-of-a-kind rendition. The slight flare on this photo is the "icing on the cake". Fabulous!

Salut André, elle a vraiment de la gueule ta gallerie, quand je survole ta dernière page elle est pleine de couleurs (sorte de oochapan en plus baroudeur), pleine de variété, de style, sacrée versatilité Mister Roberge :)
Et ça me plait beaucoup, ta gallerie a le don de me faire rever, de m'évader qq temps, dans des destrinations diverses a travers des portraits, a travers des couchers de soleil, exotiques ou un peu moins (canadien ;) ) .. tout cela a travers ton oeil, ta vision et l'élégance de tes posts.
CEtte photo ? Géniale par le titre, tellement classieuse par les couelurs et la forme de budha

Alors tu prends quoi pour regarder les Teletubbies à ton âge. Je me souviens lorsque mon chef est rentré d'un voyage à Londres il y a 9/10 ans et il parlait d'une emission pour enfants que les adultes/adolescents regardaient après avoir pris des sustances illicites. Quelques mois plus tard, ma mère a envoyé une cassette vidéo et un teletubbie à ma fille pour son anniversaire (ce n'était pas encore connu en Suisse) et j'ai compris que c'était bien cette émission. Heureusement les gosses ont grandi mais nous avons dû écouté ces trus parlaient catalan lors de notre séjour à Barcélone à Noël à cause des petits cousins qui les adore.
Fin bref, j'aime bien le ressemblance donc le titre est bien choisi. J'ai fait un ws pas terrible mais juste pour rire.
Le cadrage est superbe avec le soleil coincé sous le bras. J'adore les couleurs du ciel.
