Dragons are commonly symbols of good luck or health in some parts of Asia, and are also sometimes worshipped.

But in Thailand, though it is often taken as such, dragons that can be seen at the corners of temples or forming stairway railings ornamentation are actually Naga. Within a mythological context, it refers to a deity assuming the form of a serpent with either one or many heads.

Great colors here - the building, dragon and monks robe all really look good together. Very good POV and imaginative framing with the dragon. Great work as always. The one gripe I have is the greenery in front. Still very good. A very "harmonious" image.

Very crisp photo of the monk. I do like your frame of the out-of-focus dragon. The colours are nice with the red and gold throughout the frame giving a good balance to the photo. I don't like the plant obstructing his other arm, but this is only a small complaint.

Great portrait. Yep, I also like the out of focus dragon! The monk really stands out, with also the background being out of focus enough not to attract too much attention. The colours are combining nicely. I like it!!

Les couleurs sont magnifiques mais le portrait est un peu trop "posé" à mon goût et le dragon flou à gauche peut-être trop envahisant dans l'image? Celà reste tout de même une bien belle image!

Salut André,
A part l'exotisme de la scen, ce qui frqppe d'abord c'est le bon assemblage de couleurs! Ondirait qu'il a choisi sa robe assortie a l' altar au fond et a la statue devant!!
Un bon FG bokeh qui concentre sur le bonze qui, meme s'il semble un peu poser a une mine bien symparhique!

The only problem with this photograph is not how beautiful the settings and the colours are but the flat out pose the monk gives to you...I don't know if I am seeing it differently but is there a subtle tilt to the right with the whole framing(?)

I wonder what a reverse focus would have done in this case... :) Love the homogeneity of colors here: gold, deep wine red, white... You really have a designer's eye. Your main subject's expression is a bit dull, but hey, we know that monks tend to be somehow serious persons. :) Like it!

A posing Monk, where i have seen that before. This man is very young but he looks proud and in a certain way innocent. Putting him in the middle would not be done if the oof dragon was not there at the left, but here it works perfectly. Colours are typical Thailand. I like it the way he helds is hand on the marble, gives it a very nice pose to it.
A good photo, i like it...

Hi Andre,
Excellent the scene caught.
I like the dominating contrast made by the golden-red tones all over the image, only broken by the green of the leaves and a small part at the top of the columns.
You made the wide composition with a lot of elements, and figured out played with the open aperture to focus the attention on the man.

I love the title (referring to one of my favorite movies) and I love the shot. The out of focus dragon was well placed. It almost looks as if it will eat this monk, but in a fight I think the monk will win. The gold, reds and whites throughout the photo create a very harmonious pattern. Great shot.

C'est vrai qu'il y a ici un peu trop de blur pour mon taste, par contre ce que je trouve hyper fun ici c'est le cadrage, on dirait que cette gueule va engloutir ton monkounet grave ;-)

hello Andre, de tres belles couleurs ici avec le dragon flou, j aime beaucoup comment le jeune moine pose sa main sur la table, il pose c est dommage, mais c est une belle composition, pas facile de le decentrer avec le dragon qui a aussi une grande importance ici,
