Swaddee Krub everybody,

Songkrang 2008,This is the sequel from my previous post.In four corner of Pra Mondop, there was replicas of four Dhyani Buddhas statues,Stone Buddhas carved in the nineth century Javanese style, from Candi Plaosan in central Java.I took this shot after finished to capture overall view of Phra Mondop and start for the details capture.

For post process,Firstly I croped then use curve a little bit to composition and adjust contrast of overall scene.Secondly,I duplicat layer to split BG layer and use level tool and shadow/highlight tool to darken BG area.Thirdly,I use color balance and hue/saturation tool to adjust the color for architecture in BG.Finally,I used smart sharpen, framing and resize to finish.

For information in brife: Phra Si Rattana Chedi, which it's claimed (somewhat improbably) houses ashes of the Buddha.Phra Mondop, in the middle of terrace, is a library built in Thai style by Rama I, known for its excellently crafted Ayutthaya-style mother-of-pearl doors, bookcases containing the Tripitaka (sacred Buddhist manuscripts), human- and dragon-headed nagas (snakes), and statues of Chakri kings.Prasat Phrathepbidorn(The Royal Pantheon), with full size statues of the first seven kings of the reigning Chakri dynasty (Rama I - Rama VII). Only open on April 6th, the anniversary of the founding of this dynasty.

Great perspective!
Its a powerful image using this low angle on the statue, and that vertical line running straight up.

Hi Patshoo,
All your pics have that quality of magnificence, in many cases due to the subjects you choose to show us. This is an impressive composition. Your decision to make the Buddha statue stand out is remarkable. A lot for the viewer to grab the attention on: colours, patterns, shapes, textures, etc.
Excellent.

Maria

Hello Patshoo
Good & precise focussing on the Stone Buddha. I had seen them but didn't know about their Javanese origin. I like the step by step explanation of the PP work you've done. I find this a great help. I was initially thinking about a narrower DOF, but I think, this works perfectly fine, since the focus is on Buddha. Good work!

Angshu
