Photographer’s Note
Oriental market is a place of communication, where you come to hear latest news, not nessesarily for shopping. This is especially true in Turkmenistan, where information available to public is limited to propaganda. The shot was my last one taken at one of Ashgabad's bazars before someone told me: "No photo - big problem with police".

I think this is a superb photo for many reasons. From a technical perspective, the action carries over in many ways...the blur of the woman's hands matches the intent glare fixed on her clear face. In addition, the quick wink of the man captures one interesting second of otherwise day-to-day work. The face of the woman on the left I find problematic from a composition pov, and the photo is very different with it cropped out, but not necessarily any improvement. It does make for an interesting level by reinforcing the marketplace feel.
The light seems fine and the colors are lifelike and clear as well. This could as easily be going on in front of you, and the action further conveys that.
Thank you also for taking the time to put in a photographer's note...it makes a great deal of difference and yet so many people on TE do not bother to include them.
Welcome to TE!
