Travels on the Silk Road:
Because of the current events in Turkmenistan I put some pictures of this country on TE. Women in Turkmenistan like colorful dresses in general but their wedding gowns are downright spectacular. The museum of Mary (that is the Oasis town in the middle of the Kara Kum desert: check the satellite map under "Photo information"!) ) exhibits some traditional wedding gowns that are even more extravagant than anything this modern store in the picture has to offer.
I had to scan the slide and in the resulting pic I restored the color temperature and sharpened it.

Hello Dietrich,
Thanks for showing these wonderful dresses. It is always interesting to see local dress and customs, and this shop certainly has a great collection. The saleswoman is also very colorful. It is too bad that the scanned slide has some color imbalance, but I like the view anyway. :-)
