Photographer’s Note

Sunset falling on Khiva, an ancient city situated on the left bank of the Amu-Darya river. Khiva is a unique monument town, completely preserved in the cultural style of the region. In 1967 it was proclaimed a town-reserve and since 1990 one part of Khiva — the Ichan-kala — was recognized by UNESCO as an historical monument of world significance.

This is a medival dream. Something I always dream of. the exotic land. Such rivetting architecture, such amazing sunshine

Hi Maja,
great shot, taken at the right time, when the light became golden. I stood at the same point at noon and the pictures are not of good quality.
