Photographer's Note

CAN THO is the biggest city in the Mekong Delta. It still feels like home away from home for me, as we lived there for a couple of years (twenty years ago already) and we still have lots of friends there.

Back then I worked as a teacher trainer for Can Tho University and I visited many schools in the wider area. Sadly, this colonial gem in the center of Can Tho was not among them.

THIS PICTURE shows the Chau Van Liem Highschool (Le Collège de Can Tho) or the Trường Trung học Phổ thông Châu Văn Liêm, as it is called in full.

Like many official buildings (especially schools) it dates from French colonial times. Lots of them have been lovingly restored and are still in use. The yellow paint is typical for this type of building.
