Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken in one of the most famous quarters in Ho Chi Minh - Cholon, or Big Market. This is surely one of the busiest quarters in the city and it's worth to take some time to spend there, discovering all the goods and watching the sellers. This is the quarter where a big part of the Chinese community lives and it's possible to find everything there, silks, spices, food.... and lots of beautiful temples. It was in Cholon that I found out this seller, sitting on a little bench, talking on the phone. I liked the way she placed herself among all those things, in a so little space.

Esta até parece ser uma loja muito organizada, na qual tudo está bem arranjado. Até o telefone está no sítio (e não é telemóvel!!!).

I can even feel the scent of the spices Ana. Simple, yet nice and exotic shot. It would be much better if you have avoided the blue packets at the upper side.

It is a very bright and decorative image and I like the woman placed among the strongly coloured and patterned jars and packets.It makes me wonder what are all the things she is selling.Because of the decorative background, i think it was a good idea to keep the DoF, leaving them all sharp and clear. regards Kevin

Hello Ana, The colours & textures of the items she is selling are interesting here, the fact that she is talking on the telephone for me adds interest, maybe family or buying more merchandise, I also find interesting the small space & she. The foto quality is excellent, very well realised.

Échoppe é bem diferente o seu semelhante europeus, mas demonstra certo modernismo com todos os sacos e coxeada em plástico. Imagino os odores exóticos que se acrescentam às cores. Bonita uma imagem, realizada bem.

What a rich shelf you captured full with amazingly different products. Bags, jars, boxes. They are selling everything, you can find everything. Your timing is perfect while lady busy on the phone without thinking her surround and visitors. Great moment, excellent capture.

Nao é facil tirar uma foto como esta com tantos reflexos. Da para ver o colorido deste tipo de lojas, mas com um filtro polarizador talvez se conseguisse eliminar grande parte do brilho.
